Ok, I'm really really really pissed but f*ck it. I'm sat here listening to Still via youtube & BANG, it hit me! I really f*cking love this band more than ever.
I love Still, I love Arms, I love Crash & Burn, I love Romeo Down & Will I Dream, I love everything "new" from Come Together to War On Drugs, I love Adrenochrome, Floorshow, Burn, Lights, Kiss The Carpet, YCBTO, & Under The Gun. I even love The Damage Done. But Not Home Of The Hitmen.
So click on this ;

& lets share why we love them, when we started loving them & why we'll continue loving them...
I'll start... I love The Sisters Of Mercy because they are the soundtrack to/for my life.

I can even listen to Home of the Hitmen (it's so...brief ).Purple Light wrote:I really f*cking love this band more than ever... But Not Home Of The Hitmen.
The only thing I can't really manage is Watch.
But I am otherwise on the same train you are, my friend - I have listened to nothing else for the past two weeks. And considering I'm still languishing jobless at home, that's a great lot of listening...without drinking the whole time.

Despite his state of mind. I kind of agree.

I don't mind Watch... yeah, it's a tad obnoxious, but okay for being one
of their earliest recordings.
I also love Jaffa Cakes and Lamp!
As for drinking while lurking and posting... always! Except now of course as
it is only 10:30 Sunday morning... but if I am here at midnight chances are
100% that I have imbibed and am quietly laughing my arse off.
Also, I did a two week stint of listening the the Sisters when the 2008 US tour
started... and my wife wanted to kill me! So I had to change it up a bit and
keep the obsession at bay... now I mix it up quite a bit (many thanks to follow
Heartlanders for pointing out several great bands here, such as The Gathering,
Star Industry and Diary of Dreams). Now if I bust out with the Arms
video by DocS, my wife is less inclined to want to kill me!

Who?
Been into The Sisters since late 87, still love them. The clothes that they wore for one week still seems to influence my dress sense to this very day (especially the snakeskin shirt).
My life would have been a whole lot different without them.
Without The Sisters I would never been thrown out of the Leeds General Infirmary on the 16/2/91 for sleeping in a wheelchair....
Good times, good memories, good things...

I don't need drugs or alcohol to love The Sisters Of Mercy...
...but I'm not going to say no either

I'm on pain meds, which is about the worst thing for this thread, I'm sure! Loved them since I was 13 and my best friend's sisters gave me FALAA on tape and basically said, "You look depressed - you'll like this band. They're from around here (San Francisco) and they wrote this song Marian about my friend." All she had correct was that I did look depressed, though even I thought TSOM was a little over-the-top until I saw them live and really got it.
22 years later, they are the only band that I still listen to at all. My three year loves them and Afterhours lulls my one year old to sleep within one verse. I could go on, but I'll just say that my life is honestly different and better because of this music!
