Google Maps Streetview

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

This is actually quite cool...

Go to Google Maps and type in your home postcode. On the left hand side of the map you will see a little yellow 'man'. Drag the little fella to the street you want to look at and prepare to have pseudo 3D experience type fun...

Our bins are out, must have been a Monday...

Definitely the middle of summer - can't see anything but the corners, the trees are all leafed out (in contrast to the current view out my window, in which only the magnolia is green...).

Reminds me of why I like being at the back of the courtyard...I'm invisible!

It's way cool.

Of course some killjoy is complaining.

I like all these Google map things and I don't. Where is it going to stop?

There's been some classic Google Street Views so far; including a Japanese couple getting "fresh" in Tokyo as the camera van went past :D :D :D

Unfortunately, these classics get taken down by Google pretty quick, so no clickies to share :(

Where will it all end? It won't. Consider privacy to be a 20th century idea...

You can also use it to see what a complete hole Sc*nthorpe is without having to visit it! Shame there's not a virtual local so I can prove to my friends back in Surrey what this towns like. A town so dire it was turned down for a Primark's..
