I'm never quite sure if that signifies the Second Coming or the Apocalypse...

Was nice. Setlist was close to Stockholm, although we were treated with Summer as an added bonus. During the first songs, Von's vocals were a bit hard to make out, but by Marian, the sound engineer woke up and the vox came out swimmingly.

Von appeared to be in good spirits, didn't smoke and barely drank from what I saw. His singing in FALAA in particular was excellent; no yelping at all, very strong and hitting most (if not all) notes with ease for a man of his age.

Arms came out strong and got a good audience reaction. Von seemed to enjoy performing the piece as well as the reception it got.

Temple of Love and Vision Thing were definite hallmarks. Particularly the latter was great, it certainly felt like the roof was coming down when people decided to rock out.

All n' all, band looked and sounded great once the odd ends were sorted out, the audience was forgiving at first and riveted by the time they left.

A solid performance and a top nite out.

So much money, so far away from home and now such a long and tiring journey ahead... But it was SO worth it.
Can't wait for Warsaw already!!!
Oh, it's you. Cheers to you.

my review of gig.

Vision Thing, Something Fast were highlights to me. Especially Vision Thing blowed my brains out. Guitarist with spike hair rocked the house. Von was in Excellent spirits.

I didn't know This Corrosion until chorus. But that is just because Choir wasn't in the beginning.

but all in all...it was blast, fun and The Sisters of Mercy rocked

thanks for visiting my blog (the pics above). ;)

(the woman behind the mixing/lighting desk refused to give me that set list with notes but reluctantly did let me take a photo of it in the end.)

On the top level of the venue they actually showed the show on a bigscreen TV, so maybe it was recorded? (atleast by the venue)

Did Andrew leave the stage during Top Night and Temple of love? Just wondering because I thought I saw him upstairs.

I just wanted to say that this show rocked :) So I'm not adding anything new or exciting to this discussion...

It was the first time I've had the chance to see the Sisters live (the last time they came through Finland and the neighboring countries I was totally broke) and I don't regret going at all. The guitars sounded great, the vocals too, they played the songs I wanted to hear (oh well, I knew what to expect of course) and it was just a great experience. And the lights and the smoke...Hell, it worked perfectly.

They might never make another album, but they sure put on a great show. Just great kickass rock'n'roll. Even now 48 hrs after the gig I can't stop thinking about it, not even the new Zorn disc I picked up in Helsinki helps  Really happy I had the opportunity to witness them live at least once in my life.

they always have the screen on the balcony, at least with every major gig. doesn't mean it was recorded. or at least those recordings don't circulate - i've never seen any such footage around from any nosturi concerts.

you're right, he did, during top night. he wet to the left end of the balcony (which is almost on the left side of the stage).
