... A Promise by Echo and the Bunnymen was playing
set me up for the day, one of my all time fave songs being played by the 'young guns' at work, of course they ruined it with the next tune: Killing Moon, the track that me and EatB fell out over... Pish, s**t, Rubbish!

I love it when you hear a super choon unexpectedly! Really does make a difference when it is a surprise.

They played Temple of Love on xfm a few weeks ago, sounds even better on the radio.
followed by the DJ claiming that his friend who was once in the Sisters (maybe TJ)said that everyone in the crew calls Rigsby behind his back.(cos of the voice).

I found two old 12" singles in the loft while clearing out at the weekend, in their own protected box and in the thick protective clear sleeves we used to keep for our best records...
Transmission by Joy Division
and
Never Stop by Echo and TBM.
I don't need to play them. I know them by heart. I just look at them.

It could be worse actually - we've got to agree as a factory to change our working conditions to the above. If we don't get close to 100% agreement then there will be redundancies What people need to realise is that although they may fancy redundancy (and a pay-off), then a) they might not get made redundant and someone sat next to them who didn't want it will and b) it's f*cking hard to get a job out there
Next meeting is Wednesday when our joint decision will be made. A very nervous weekend beckons...

Sorry to hear it, Norman H.
I had to make a tough decision two months ago, put my 5 staff on a 4 day week, with pay reduction.
The good news is that things seem to be picking up and should be back to normal by end of the month.
Fingers crossed.... and I sincerely hope your place gets thru it and you're back to normal in a month or two.

I'm now approaching FIVE months jobless, and I can tell you, living that way is no longer viable when you're over, say, 25.Norman Hunter wrote:it's f*cking hard to get a job out there urff:
Hope you can (metaphorically, of course) knock some sense into anyone who might be considering that as an option...and that things will be back to normal shortly.

It's looking like we're gonna get 100% agreement from everyone to go to a four-day week as from next Friday, so it's not all bad.7anthea7 wrote:Hope you can (metaphorically, of course) knock some sense into anyone who might be considering that as an option...and that things will be back to normal shortly.
