Best news website on the web

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I have a lot of 'spare time' in my work which I could better use in utilising my brain in other things.

Any tips on good news sites (world, dutch, uk, wales) or as amatter of fact any other interesting things.

There is probably a thread for this but I can't really be arsed to trawl through evrything.. time is money.

+3, and I don't even live there.

Seriously, though, if I actually want to know what's going on in the world (as opposed to someone's biased opinion as to what's going on in the world), that's where I get it.

I am a big fan of the Guardian's Comment is Free. Good variety of opinion on a wide range of topics and it's fully interactive - often the best stuff is in the comments.

I remember during Iraq war 2.0, there was a story going around about the US dropping a bomb on a hospital, lots of people hurt. US denied it.

CNN: Iraq says bombing happened. US denies the incident, interview with US government official denying it. Next story...

BBC: Iraq says bombing happened. US denies the incident. Here's some video of the incident. Here's the damaged hospital. Here's the crater of a bomb. Here's people hurt.

After that, I gained huge respect for the Beeb. Very straightforward, to the point and honest.
