Star and Head logo explained?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I agree, I reckon you can read too much into it.

Could it be of some sort of significance that the skin of the head is being "released" (as in "Merciful Release")?

the corners of the skin are peeling back because the head is taken from an autopsy diagram

check out the source image i posted from the HL image gallery earlier...

he didnt add those lines. they were already there. showing where to cut is kinda the point of the diagram

I always liked it because unless you knew of the Sisters, you'd never know it was a band. Which in my book is a good thing (ahem!). It still makes for a good t-shirt even now. Though much as I do like the new(well 15 year old) one, I prefer the old one...

I remember him saying at one point something along the lines of "we want to get inside your head. by any means necessary."

;D Always loved that...

Had to look it up. Thankfully I found a description first. I refrained from watching the actual video and those who weren't so lucky have my deepest sympathies. James Blast, you are in my prayers.

No, hang on - if it wasn't for you I'd never have had to hear about it! Damn you, James Blast. Damn you to hell!
Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

Accidently re-enrailing this thread. Sorry to all involved.

In the Booklet to the Some Girls CD it was written, I think:
"We need to get into your head, by all means available."

Well, scalpels and drillers do that job.
Maybe that's what's behind the picture of a head that's being sectioned there?

yep, they say the same thing on the band website as well:
Where did you get that original, old Merciful Release logo?

It was heavily inspired by a picture in Gray's Anatomy. We need to get inside your head. By any means necessary.

I sometimes wonder if people read other people's posts in a thread. :urff:
