So, tomorrow is the day (actually I'm just posting to get this thread on top of the list ).
I hope this will be much better than the Greenfield-Festival gig 2 years ago, but I'm quite confident.
And I still have 2 tickets to sell (100 CHF ?).
(pointlessly waiting for the Far Parade)

Arrived at Zurich City , around 10°C and cloudy......
enjoy that one, especially those of you who do have a close relation to the venue!
will this be the last european show this year? it so far has been a quite favourable one all in all

Good gig!
Venue was crowded (maybe sold out?)
Audience was lame but polite (swiss style), security s**ked
Andrew was smoking a lot. His voice was strong in the beginning, but got weaker. He didn't talk to the audience
Setlist as usual (no Floorshow)
Sound was OK, volume was perfect
I liked Arms for the first time
Why don't they skip this useless instumental and play Burn instead (or Valentine, Emma, Heartland, Gimme Shelter, Body Electric...)?
Chris is not a good singer
I love this band (even though it feels like supporting a 4th division football club)
The internet spoils everything (no suprises, I've seen everything on youtube before)

Right. I should be working, but I can't...
First of all greetings to all those who were there: Wolfgang, Sabine, Spiggy, Paskal, Cyberbio, Christian W., Jenzi-Benzi, the French couple (Céline & Richard) and also to those we haven't met.
I was slightly anxious (sp?) it would be a cold routine gig, cause it's Zurich. But surprisingly many people found their way to the venue, and surprisingly they seemed to know what to expect (and didn't mourn "the old days" audibly)...
It started with a lot of smoke, and slightly quiet as usual (Crash & Burn), but by the time they played Marian The Sisters had won over the audience. I don't know whether it was for all the German, French and Italian (Tessin?) people in the first rows, or whether it was for the Swiss people feeling spring arrive, but the crowd really got into it and so did the band... Much posing was done, people on the right had a spectacular view onto Von's naked right shoulder ( ), Eggi and some more usual suspects made for a nice little moshpit and even at the back you could see and hear people clapping their hands... Giving Ground, Susanne, Summer and Arms got a suprisingly loud cheer from the audience, Flood I, Flood II and Romeo Down were intense, hypnotic and gave me particular shivers. Von did talk, but I couldn't understand a word, don't even know what language he spoke, and they all smiled or at least smirked. The sound was loud, energetic and crisp, very clear guitars, ecxellent voice...
All in all it was a wonderful gig for me, on the same level as Zagreb, one of the Top Ten gigs this year (2009) so far...
Greetings from Cloud 9,
Eva

Well thanks for that image, which will be stuck in my head all day I'm sure! It did look from the photo as if he were likely to fall out of...whatever the hell he was wearing. Aren't you the lucky one?Eva wrote:...people on the right had a spectacular view onto Von's naked right shoulder...

This is the kind of robotic look I prefer. And yeah, that 4th division footballclub, I feel the same. But you'll never walk alone.Spiggythecat wrote:excellent gig IMHO

one of the best Sisters gigs i've ever seen!
band with Chris and Ben sounds like a perfectly lubricated machine and Von's voice is much better than in previous years.
I hope somebody taped this one?!?

Sorry! For your mental health's sake I hasten to add that the shoulder was only partly naked as Von kept his yellow shirt on. But he only wore the black "over-shirt" on his left shoulder. And he moved his hips back and forth at some point...7anthea7 wrote:Well thanks for that image, which will be stuck in my head all day I'm sure!Eva wrote:...people on the right had a spectacular view onto Von's naked right shoulder...
