leave VON alone!!!

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

it is rather unfortunate that my favorite band hasent released
anything for more than a decade(please dont mention under the gun)
but since NONE of us can do something about it dont bother so much,
those of you unhappy with this find a band that releases records
so you ll be happy, otherwise you come along the ride and wherever
it ends, for me it is a wonderful ride 17 years long and i dont want it to end.
as quiff said "no whys and wherefores"
and for the one who said that cradle of filth improved no time to cry,
this is defenatly the worst thing i ve read on the forum, things are
getting a bit out of hand...
everyone is free to write what he feels and thinks but this is a bit
too much.. a black metal band improving a sisters song?

improved....nah.

i'd say the filths put their own "unique" fitlh-ness into their cover...id say its an interpretation which has its place as do they all,and id also say imitation is the insincerest form of flattery.

i quite like it for what it is...much the same as i like the original.

its quirky, unmistakeablyfrom the filth's which means its a given that its cheesey, choc full of overly exaggerated, overblown fussy keyboards and gives you another excuse to laugh at/with them.

top marks to them for camp gothiness i say :D

i dont hate the cradle of filth cover- i can stand it

its just that im sick of meeting all these morons who go 'cradle of filths no time to cry rocks man- i cut my arm to it last night man' and i go 'you know thats a sisters cover'

'sisters of mercy? are they death metal?'

'nope, an industrial groove phenomenom'

*sigh*

this is an actually conversation i had with someone btw- he laughed at the sisters version. tis true :x

i think theyre funny.
Cradle of Filth that is...
not their fans who are clearly bigger thinkers than i as they get the "real" message behind all of the campness.
clearly theres some serious message of great import contained within their songs which i,in all my musical peasantry am too inferior to fathom.
what i see as comedy entertainment from the filths',is real and sincere philosophical genius which you have to be yourself in order to "get it".

Yet again I agree SH - nowt wrong with a bit of comedy camp "Gothness" (if only I thought Dani Filth actually agreed with us)

Cradle Of Filth, The Darkness of Nu Goth Metal, never fails to raise a smile at Chateau B'last :D
