Official Site Update

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside.

and the errorpage is also on the record news....

waiting ....
 Beach huh? Well it sounds like they're enjoying themselves at least...

Love the error 404 for the "record news" page, quite appropriate - though "other news" is still saying "Sisters Bite the Silver Bullet"

Kind of embarassing how much fun I get out of a silly band web site - it is probably the most entertaining one I've seen though, it's not just some promotional website but content created by the actual band and all.

Try it without the hyphens: http://www.thesistersofmercy.com
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

It's too good to have been used only for its original intent and discarded - this way both the page, and the memory of its purpose, live on... :D

For all the complaints about it so rarely being updated because :von: is such a control freak, I can wait. (TSOM has taught me patience, if nothing else... ) His wit and humour are worth all the content on other bands' sites put together, and then some. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

This is some kind of mystery to me. I also discovered that www.the-sisters-of-mercy.com frequently stops working while www.thesistersofmercy.com still works.

However, both domains are aliases for www.reptilehouse.com, and it's also the same servers providing DNS for both domains... can anyone explain this?

Well...there is still a link on the News page to "Record News" at least. Or maybe that's the next thing to go. :?

Has the word "redemption" always been a link to St. Pauli's site? (just a technical question, not principal)
And the error page... it was quite long time ago when I read it last time - before today. Is it my mistake if I remember that the sentence "You are above the chemist, but all is not lost, although you are." has been the last one? Probably yes, I mean - probably I am wrong.
