Earliest Sisters

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Indeed.

OK, I'll actually be helpful.

Floorshow EP - Floorshow/Lights/Teachers/Adrenochrome.
Probably the first Sisters demos ever, or at least the earliest available. From sometime in 1981. Lots of sources.

Kenny Giles Walks On Water - versions of Alice/Body Electric/Good Things/etc
Astonishing poor quality, worth it for the novelty value only really. From 81 or 82 ish, pretty sure it's been weeded in the past.

Portastudio Demos - versions of Valentine, Anaconda, etc
Available on the Hard Reign/Ultra Rare Trax/Before the Flood bootlegs. Mostly superb quality, all dated from early 81 to late 82 I would guess.

81 Live Stuff - Damage Done/Watch/Teachers/Adrenochrome/Sister Ray/1969/etc
Various sources, the versions from the 1981 tape are probably the best.

All of these pop up in Weeding or Sharing from time to time, so that's where you need to check out. :D
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

But of course! No sexism involved! This is a girls community after all! We are all sisters of each other!
