6music Goth Week - 27th Oct

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Here's a thing.

All over the Radio 6 site, they've plastered GOTH WEEK in large letters.

I think we need not here rehearse Mr E's attitude towards being associated with the genre.

Why can't he stop them transmitting it? Is it because it's a live show they're broadcasting and AE has no rights over that? I can't imagine he's happy to be the be-shaded poster boy for the week.

I missed last night's, sorry. Damn work, was in such a hurry to get out the door I forgot to organize it. I'll definitely be recording the rest of the dream tickets though.

Quiffy get yourself into his chatroom tomorrow at 4:30.

Or the roundtable chat at 6:00pm on Friday when we'll all be in fancy dress for halloween :)

Who you going as Blast? Hopefully I'll be "Alice_in_her_party_dress".

Oh, and remember to give all the singles 0/10 cos they'll all be sh*te, it's the law.

I think we should start calling QB 'Barry' from now on. Just for the sheer bourgois ring to it.

Derek Man, Black Dahlia has drained me of so much blood over in Planet's place I may well turn up as The Thin White Duke. Your presence was missed in last nights chat, at least Sir Colin Thackerey has found himself a new job, but who is that git Ian Tinsley and his need for a theme to the chats?

Hey ho... It wasn't the 'Jolene' session, just a repeat of the last one with 'Emma' despite the introduction suggesting the 1983 session...

Don't you just hate it when that happens?

The Furs are pretty good aren't they? Pretty In Pink at the mo! Missed the rest of the program as we did a m*****n to Sainsburys looking for Pot Mash.

Apparently they don't seem to do it any more. This is a tragic day.

dont forget to tell them that they kep getting the date of that peel session wrong - its 1984 not 83 ;)

maybe thats why they played it again? they realised the first one was 84, but then this time they saw it in the archives still labelled as 83 and thought it must have been a different recording...?!?

Just received this from producer Frank:

Derek

I'm so sorry to disappoint...

What happened is this - a while back I was sent a list of all the Goth
stuff that was likely to feature in the Dream Ticket this week, so we
could decide what to play (and not duplicate songs and bands). The list
I saw included the 83 session incl Jolene etc.. However as you well know
tracks from that session weren't actaully included. Yesterday when I
checked for you what time the Sisters tracks were going to be on I'd
forgotten that it was that particular session you were interested in.

Sorry. I'll see if I can think up a way of making it up to you...
