Some Girls Wander/Vision Thing - 2 in 1.. wth?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I ran a search and did a little digging on this lovely message board, but I couldn't find any info on this.

http://www.amazon.com/Girls-Wander-Mist ... B001CDLAOE

Amazon isn't supplying the dirt, and Rhino.uk doesn't even list it anymore. But since I lost my copy of Some Girls, I was thinking about picking it up. But here's what I'm curious about...

Does anyone know if these discs are remastered? I'm thinking the answer to that is no, even though it is a Rhino release.

I'm also curious if anyone knows if this is a jewel case or digipak.

I also imagine there's no liner notes, but I got the old case and liner notes for Some Girls wander somewhere, so no big loss there.

Sorry but the answer to your questions is no, no liner-notes, not remastered and no digipack..

Liner notes = eh
No remaster = aww
No digipak = hell yeah

I hate those cardboard boxes, they're awful. Sadly, a lot of the remastered stuff lately has been coming out in that format.

Thanks for the reply.

must disagree with your comment about digipack, but it's nothing wrong when you're wrong.

digipacks are nice but not so durable as wooden coffin boxes.

Looks like a typical Warners rip-off job.

LPs were tactile, felt good, smelt good and occasionally sounded good. CDs are glorified shaving mirrors...

I remember seeing Tomorrow's World when CDs first appeared on it. I remember they spread butter on it  and threw it across the room to prove how indestructible it was. The first CD I got, (weirdly a Ghostdance one), jumped. Figured.

Ah I stand corrected. Can't remember the name of the Ghostdance single either. The first major label one I think...

Bow.. infidel.. ;)

I'm still let down that the mini disc didn't break through. Nice and small, the cartridges they were in kept them protected from the environment, finger prints and what not a lot better than cd's and vinyl lp's, and storing them would have been nice due to the size.

Some would say the vinyl lp sounded better, but some guys like fat chicks. I'll stick with cd's, skinny chicks, and jewel cases. Digipak cases are awful when it comes to protecting the disc, and fat chicks can't be trusted to be around small animals.
