i was wondering actually, would a VG body electric 7" be worth more or worth less if signed by gary marx? if it was possible to prove the authenticity of teh signatur beyond doubt, for example with a photo of him signing it?

never ceases to amaze me just how much disposable income people seem to have to spend on this stuff.
granted theres the odd signed vinyl floating about or whatever, the occasional coloured vinyl import thats was ltd edition of mr e farting in an outake of dominion or something but it seems to get a little on the silly side at times.
posters from years ago going pushing the hundred pound mark etc etc...
not trying to have a go at ayone but when you put it all into context is spending £90-ish on the "foiled"poster of body+soul really going to enhance your life that much?
whats the draw?i dont see it.is it the satuisfaction of owning something which most other fans dont?
do you then insure it all on its own just incase because youre home contents wont cover its real value/or what was its real value to you?
i know of one person who does have quite an amount of "rare" tshirts of another related band.
if he made his stock available they wouldnt be rare at all,you could almost say theyd be ten a penny for quite some time, but he astutely rations his selling to under half a dozen or so a year. in various places.
now these tshirts ive watched sell individually for £60,is he doing anything wrong there or is it merely a case of him recognising that there are people willing to pay that much for a tshirt and hes providing them with that oppportunity to purchase that item?
granted they are mint+packaged, but he recognised relatively early on there was a post goth type revival and bought up a shed load of stuff at a time way back when it was most certainly not a popular thing at all.
quite literally laughing all the way to the bank.
bravo him, kind of wish id beaten him to it

You know you're something special,
And you look like you're the best

I think people only appreciate autographs if from the actual period/date. Saw a couple of SATB programmes from a Rainbow gig in 1979 selling on ebay. Both mint. Unsigned it went for £87. Signed, four years later by Sioux/Severin, went for £63.Quiff Boy wrote: is it worth getting that nice mr marx to sign it? or would that devalue it - i know not all people collect/want/believe autgraphed stuff...
Maybe autographs are too personal. I wouldn't buy something signed, unless I had been there when it was signed. It's part of the memories/occassion/event.
Loki was never worshiped as the other Gods,
Which is quite understandable.

yeah, i was thinking pretty much along the same lines...Johnny Boy wrote:I think people only appreciate autographs if from the actual period/date. on a similar note, i have everything rosetta stone did up until the "nothing" 12", signed personally by the two guys (and the later stuff signed my the third chap too) - even the darkness & light ep - and yep, it means more to me than to someone else because i got the signitures myself

I also agree with Johnny Boy! It's personnal...Quiff Boy wrote:is it worth getting that nice mr marx to sign it? or would that devalue it - i know not all people collect/want/believe autgraphed stuff...
But I also think it also depends on the band and who signed.
Anything signed by a Beatle is worth a lot and even more if signed by the whole band.
For the Sisters, since they changed band members so often, I think that if the original members for that specific album signed, it will be more valuable than an album signed by members who did not played on that album (ie the Damage Done on EBAY).
But to answer your question, I don't think a Body Electric signed by Gary Marx will would be devalued.

of the t shirts are the covers from the records and it s a white shirt.
not much, and he is asking a lot of money for each box and for
the signed damage done. as it seems he will get what he wants for dd
but for the boxes i doubt..
as for the prices it s a three figure number and it dosent start neither
from one , two , three or four and maybe not even five...
which is ok for dd but far too much for the bloody boxes.
In reffering to the signed Damage Done 7" - I was wondering who signed first - Hussey or Eldritch . The VON sig looks real but what about the Hussey or Marx ones?
A COA would be needed before I even considered buying it - real or not

Anyone else find it intensely funny that they actually signed that little beauty? Like as if they were prepared to acknowledge it's existence, rather than fending off the seller with a 10 foot pole and screaming "go away you horrible person, I thought all copies of that were hidden in the cellar with my lunatic son Igor!!!"
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
