I read on wiki that Patricia left the sisters in 1990, because they had a quarrel. Does anyone know more?

She claimed he wasn't paying her a decent wage (she was essentially his employee), and that he owed her money even at that.
Considering that she didn't actually do anything but add some eye-candy to the videos, pretend she was playing bass on cheesy pop shows, and run interference for him in interviews, I don't know what she expected to earn.

I believe she has changed the story a few times.
Patricia always seemed more like a bitter ex than a bitter former member, some of the interviews have just been harsh. I remember in one she compared Andrew to Dave (the Damned) and I didn't see the point of that. Makes me curious if Andrew brought her into the band to stick it in, or just for aesthetic reasons. Because there are times when their split sounds more like they had something going on at one time.

It's said that she used to fend off maliciously-intended women from Andrew, cause it wasn't natural to him to turn down gals.

He actually said that himself. When they were still on good terms, that is. Whether it was to save him from himself (one of his 'regrets' is having slept with too many 'ugly' women), or because they were actually an item...those who know aren't telling.Guedzilla wrote:It's said that she used to fend off maliciously-intended women from Andrew, cause it wasn't natural to him to turn down gals.

I always used to hear that even with rockstar goggles, a lot of that bands female fans just weren't into him. I always thought that was odd because Manson seemed to have no issue, and that dude is the definition of ugly.
I mean how does this..
..dampen panties?
Now for those who used to claim the man had a brain, trying making sense of this.

Erm, bit of a continuity issue here - you are referring to Dave, right?Deviancy wrote:I always used to hear that even with rockstar goggles, a lot of that bands female fans just weren't into him.

Well, that leaves only one possibility. In which case, I don't know from whom you were getting your information, but they were, and are, so very, very mistaken.Deviancy wrote:Bzzzt.

I'm not basing this off of a study, or rumors. I'm basing this off of numerous discussions I've seen on goth e-lists, newsgroups, what have you over the years. And when girls are voicing their thoughts on someone, I don't see how they can be wrong about their own peronal taste.
Now in the 80's things may have been different, hard to say. I was still playing with my GI Joes and waiting to get home to watch the Transformers back then.

Oh, well then - that does explain some things.Deviancy wrote:I'm not basing this off of a study, or rumors. No, they're not wrong about their own personal tastes. But (current) goth lists and forums are probably one of the last places to go looking for Eldritch fans. I recall a number of comments posted re: YT vids from the Silver Bullet tour that ran along the lines of 'he's BALD and FAT'. Erm - he shaves his head, dears - not quite the same thing - and 'fat' he is not - he's just not living on drugs, alcohol, and air like we all did back then...
As for back in the day - well, hell yeah. And I can tell you there aren't many of us who've changed our tune since then.
And there's a whole crop of ladies who are much, much younger than I who feel pretty much the same - albeit many of them do wish they'd been around back then as well... Most of them wouldn't necessarily identify as 'goth', though, even if others might be tempted to pigeonhole them as such - and they certainly wouldn't be posting in places such as you've mentioned - that's why they're here instead.

Well it's nice to know some approve of Eldritch in that way.
I'd love to get into the rockstar goggle thing, and I've always been curious as to why men don't seem to be affected in the same way. But then this would become an entirely off topic disucssion. So I'm going to skip that and go back to Patricia.
Did anyone ever think Patricia was hot?
I didn't really find any of the female musicians back then to be attractive, except for maybe Terri Nunn. But I od'd in the 90's when Shirley Manson popped out of the blue.

Goths have feelings too
Ask the boys on CSD parade what they think, I guess you'll be surprised.Deviancy wrote:..and I've always been curious as to why men don't seem to be affected in the same way.
Patsy was RED HOT! A real bate for teenage boys, and from my den back then there was not a single one who thought differently.Deviancy wrote:Did anyone ever think Patricia was hot?

..the same goes for Terri.
By the way: There's enough evidence that Patricia is a more than competent bassist..ess. I guess her ideas just didn't match with Andrew's. Evident from listening to Driven like the snow, where the funky sounding samples that can be heard in the song after the line "And the chrystal, if you touch it" were her work, as was said in some other thread out here a while ago.

I don't believe the "Patricia never played a note" stuff. Her other work elsewhere has proved that she can play, and I think she did play.
And Patricia, hot? Gods yes.

Does anyone know if there's actual bass guitar on the record? To me, it's always been a toss-up as to whether or not it's synthed.markfiend wrote:I don't believe the "Patricia never played a note" stuff. Her other work elsewhere has proved that she can play, and I think she did play.

Nah, I don't think it sounds like a synth.
Didn't know about Patsy having recorded the funky bass on Driven Like The Snow... I always wondered why there were two bass lines on the same song, and how did it get to making it so.

I saw some of the women Eldritch 'banged' back in 'the day' and in 'real world' you'd of walked straight past them. But it was strange to see , especially with the Mishun, when they had their 15 minutes, women offering themselves to the band like they were Aerosmith back in the 1970's !! One rumour of Eldritch using a cattle prod ( provided by Dave kentish) to keep gothy girls away back stage is still a modern day myth.
But this constant, did she didn't she play bass thread is always going to be up for debate. Some people just flat out don't want it to be true. How can a broad like that play bass? Well, after stints with the Gun Club, Sisters and the Damned - I think by now the whistle would of been blown by either a disgruntled ex band / roadie / lover. Yes, she was eye candy , but women do play bass guitar. I personally know two.
If your ever gonna question the bass playing of the Sisters go back and listen ot the b-sides of No Time To Cry and see if you can spot the join.

Isn't a bass guitar essentially a massive clitoral stimulator?
