I'm thinking about going to this one instead of the main gig, altough I'm not sure.
This one probably won't last over 40 mins... if it gets to 40 mins. How long are the current Sisters gigs, around one hour and half?
Sure, it's way better to stick through 100 people to see the band than through (umm... 200? 500?) more... but I dunno...

Yeah but more importantly, who here already knew that the date of this show is EXACTLY 25 years since The Sisters first release on Warner, "Body and Soul" E.P. on June 4th 1984?Being645 wrote:Anybody the correct setlist at hand?
Please tell me that that means the entire back-catalogue has or is about to revert back to Andrew.
I mean c'mon, 25 years? How long could Warner really own this stuff for?
So who was there? Why was this gig limited to 100 people,? And why on the silver anniversary of Body And Soul? C'mon someone let us in on the secret
"... because we're that kind of people."
I wasn't going to say anything, cause this "gig" is best left forgotten, but as some of you seem to have the feeling they missed something...
The whole thing was the anniversary of the club or something. Of the maybe 300 (at the utmost) people who were there, maybe 20 had bought a ticket at were there for The Sisters. The rest just hung around, downstairs and upstairs, if they were VIp-guests they would sip their free drinks, feel important and probably get bored along the way. There were waiters passing through with tacos and other bits. In the beginning it was funny for us, but the whole thing soon lost our interest.
The best thing was that we met local people who we met again on the next day at the proper (and mindblowing) gig (best light show ever!!!).
Before the Sisters came on stage, there was kind of a 2 hour jam session, with one crap singer, numerous drummers (each stayed for one song), and they would do covers old classics like The Doors etc. This was fun for about 10 minutes...
Eggi and I felt sorry for the band who then had to play their 30-40 minutes set to a mostly uniterested crowd. We both still have the feeling this all was kind of "arranged". What was it exactly about the venue in Curitiba that was unsafe? Why not another venue in Curitiba (like in Madrid?). And an annyiversary party on a thursday? Hmmmm. We got the feeling that it was too tempting for the promoter to "use" a band like the Sisters for his own purposes and they couldn't turn down, as they probably had already gotten the money for Curitiba. Besides, like us they couldn't anticipate what it would be like. Had we known better, we'd have skipped this.
We might be totally wrong of course. And whatever I write here should not give the impression South America or Brazil or Sao Paulo weren't on top level. Because they were, and they're always worth a visit and we've seen some TOP gigs there and we've met TOP people. But this one little - I hesitate to call it a gig - thing was out of the line. This really was the moment when I realised that even if I'd win the lottery, I'd never ask the band to play at my wedding, not even as a joke. Because it would be an insult and a sad affair.

Thank you, Eva for your account of that obiviosly sad event ...
Nevertheless, I think we should keep record of it in the Sisters Wiki - for the sake of
completeness and as a reminder of what makes the difference between being somewhat meaningless ::
or important to people at times, while performing the very same songs ...
... and how things can change from one day to the next ... : : : : : : :
Btw, have you got a complete setlist? Please, post it here ...
