The Most Abandoned Places In The World

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Bodie! I've been there! It's very odd, yet very cool - and, as is implied by the photos, it's in the middle of freaking nowhere...

Very interesting photos... thanks for posting this link.

When I looked at the pictures, the ones from Pripyat really touched me... All those toys and dolls left back by their former owners- they must have been in an extreme hurry if children couldn`t even take their toys with them. It makes me feel weird :|
And think of the fact that the whole area will be deserted like that for the next ca. 25.000 years or so ... just because humans think that nuclear power can be handled safely. :(

yeah... there's a growing movement to have the sun turned off too... because that's also powered by nuclear reactions, and is causing an increasing amount of skin cancer around the world.

Its just not safe

I've been to Kolmanskuppe. It's a weird place. The lighting makes it impossible to take a bad photo.
