Not new pressings, both versions have been on Ebay before, although quite some time ago

Hope am not going off topic, but was wondering, as there seems (but could be wrong!) that there is suddenly lots of live LPs appearing is it possible to theoretically find a concert, get it pressed cheaply and then disguise it as an old back in the day bootleg? I mean if there's a limited edition of 50, say, it'll be almost impossible to say where those 50 all are, so should a few more appear would anyone notice? I know the Sisters were (officially apparently!) the most bootleged band in history so maybe they're all originals and maybe am just very cyncial and uninformed! It is being done with CDs but as certain LPs seem to be much dearer when autioned I wouldn't be suprised. Of course not dissing the knowledge of collectors who know far more than me but was just curious. Oh dear have no faith in humanity! Or maybe it's just a Monday...

I am pretty sure that that could be possible. You just need the concert and you should own at least a original copy. After that you need to find a pressing plant and a good printershop.

Pressing your own vinyls ain't that difficult, you don't even need an original pressing.
It is perfectly possible, say, to download a whole concert from DimeADozen, go to a printing company and let them press it on vinyl for you.
Just say you are a DJ and you need your set on vinyl before Saturday next
The only thing that could be tricky is the artwork. It will look very crisp for its age

ah apparently the Sisters were first and weirdly Prince was second. Though as I have no proof of that I wouldn't defend it with my life. But I definitely read somewhere that the Sisters were officially the most bootlegged band. Have no idea how they measured it. I would've though the Stones or someone would be bootlegged to death...

And so would anyone who ever collected Metallica bootlegs.James Blast wrote:The Dreadful Grate would definitely disagree with thatabridged wrote:I know the Sisters were (officially apparently!) the most bootleged band in history

Sisters were probly most bootlegged band of the eighties, but not ever. That surely must be (as Blast says) the Grateful Dead.

I think I've heard it was the Buzzcocks who taped nearly every gig they ever did, as well/James Blast wrote:The Dreadful Grate would definitely disagree with thatabridged wrote:I know the Sisters were (officially apparently!) the most bootleged band in history

i think they were WEA's most bootleged band toping Prince and Madonna who were on the same label.
I also heard back in the early 90s that the Sisters were the most bootleged band, although maybe that should have been with the caveat 'in comparison with the number of officially released albums'?
There was an excellent article on bootelgs in the Guardian around that time which banged on about Dylan, the Beatles, Stones, Led Zep, etc. but made no mention of the more alternative acts sadly. Think I still have it stowed away somewhere.
Regarding bootlegs, off the top of my head, the only vinyl boots I can recall of recent years have been the FALAA coloured & pic disc lps, the SSV pic disc lp and the Colours in Carnage coloured dlp.
Lots of boots appear to be being pressed in Oz at the moment - are there some illicit plants in the outback?
