All of Ribbons but particularly 'Love is a many splintered thing' .
Crash & Burn for ' Do I drive or am I driven? Can I brake what I've been given?'
I could just kiss that brake/break thing. And the many good uses that the word driven has been put to over the years.
But I have to give You Could Be The One a mention too for 'You could give me hair and run your fingers through my head'. Sorry!

I don't wanna live like I don't mind
My life has been made considerably better by the snippet 'I don't need no-one to understand'. It sums up Von, I guess, and it's a far more powerful sentiment than you might think. For a whole host of reasons. If you REALLY don't need anyone to understand you and your actions, you can deal with anything life throws at you. For better or worse. And yes, it does mean that you infuriate people.

oh well ... favourite lyrics, hm?
There is a huuuuuge list .... as most said already: almost everything.
But then again:
The completes:
Neverland
Colours
Some Kind Of Stranger
On The Wire
And what I especially love (though not originally by Von):
We're the Teachers of the hearts, we teach all hearts to break.
Also:
"I have slept with all the girls in Berlin" but that's due to a personal experience with some female friends in Berlin. Go Figure
However, consideringy lyrics Von has ever been a great person when it came to writing some. I still can't get lines as good as his, and I am sure I never will be able to write something worthy a Von song.

All of Lucretia is fantastic. He out did himself with that song. And the vid...Genius.claws wrote:"we got the empire, now as then

That's why it is my favorite song ever.

I think all of it - the music, the lyrics and the video match with each other perfectly

You guys mentioned most of them. Like the I won't bleed no more-part of TC and Nothing for miles. The entire Floodland album is a masterpiece lyricwise.
A few of my favourites that hasn't been mentioned though:
Black Mariah, in your eyes
England fades away
Let's take a ride
We serve an old man in a dry season
A lighthouse keeper of the desert sun
Head on back to Kirkstall, in the shadow of the sun
Seven shades of Shiva rising - I am come
Stuff like that. But, like Quiff Boy said, the first thing I heard that really got me hooked on the Sisters were the endless, monotone and more and more desperate repeating of the single words My heartland, heartland, heartland...

That's the one! I wuz gonna say that bit...for some reason the 'england fades away' is a shiver-down-the-spine moment for me. Don't know why...but it's the whole atmosphere of the song plus that line...wahey...gonna have to dig afterhours out now!!!The Green Lantern wrote: A few of my favourites that hasn't been mentioned though:

That line in whichever bl**dy song on vision thing: "It's a small world and it smells funny" deserves a round of applause too, just for being sooooo silly...
Amused to death...

My knowledge of song titles is dodgy to say the least...even the bleedin' obvious ones!
Amused to death...
Here's another - the mighty Adrenochrome.
As a statement of intent, a manifesto, a sick black joke, a "Hey Hey We're The Monkees" gone wrong, it reigns supreme!

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
