83 Deffo. I remember seeing 92 on TOTP and thinking oh my God.
It's nothing personal to poor Ofra, but just doesn't compare to 83.

S'gotta be 83...
The 92 version is just, as the m*****n might have said by excavating another cliche from the Concise Unimiginative Sayings Dictionary, Beyond The Pale.
It was a nice idea in principle...but it was a tad overblown. Wasn't even THAT good a song in the first place. (Heresy!)

This is a tough one, I really like both of 'em. 83 is gonzoid and rocks like a mo-fo. 92 broods a bit more. I got nothing against Ofra either.

I'm with Paddy on this one. The 1992 version is a Masterpiece. I love it I love it I love it!!!~!!!
and now I want More!
I find it hard to choose.
92 is the better record but it's kinda been played to death in a lot clubs
I used to hang out in.
But anything's better than the cut down piece of crap Von plays live now.
The Smurphs actually play that song a helluva lot better.

You are what you drink - I'm a bitter man!
I have always thought that a version that is made up of the first "Half" of 83 and the later "Half" of 92 would be a great version!
This would also 'stump' anyone dancing to 'it' in a club - in the same way as the English version of Rammstein's "Du Hast" - You should have seen their face when I used to play that whilst Djing!

Both.
Because each is eligible for the time it's been done. Its 1983's vesrion sounds unbeliavably strong for the 80s while that 1992's one sounds as equally strong in the 90s context. Both are simply timeless.
