Apparently you need a permit 4 to join a gun club (even for air guns).
That's not really a problem, for I'd gladly "go" for a permit, but there's not as much fun to be had as in the backyard, shooting cards and ducks while having a nice afternoon with two or three friends

Paintballing is just popping away until you accidentally hit someone. Airguns like the Weihrauch are quite accurate and are really cool for target shooting
