Yes, it does seem a bit strange, especially when he's just staging a comeback after chasing UFOs for three years.
I was a bit surprised to realise that he'd been in the business for twenty years (although it took Take That a few years to start having any hits) but it's still not a lifetime. Surely just having hits doesn't constitute and "outstanding achievement". What's he actually done or contributed? Apart from his enormous ego.

Any more of that and we'll be round your front door with the quick-setting whitewash and the shaved monkey.

On the other hand, I hate Robbie Williams. If he ever does swing by my local grassy knoll I will not be held responsible for my actions.

I always thought Dave Gahan was a bit of a chinless wonder despite them making some great records.Norman Hunter wrote:And wrongHom_Corleone wrote:Controversial.Bartek wrote:Robbie's better than DM.
However, Robbie Williams is simply a cnut.

Just looking at the previous winners.
I suppose if they can give it to the B**tles, they can give it to any Tom, Dick or Harry.
@Hom. Gary Barlow all the way (even with his weird eyes)

Ah Robbie and Depeche Mode, creatures from the same Swamp. Talking of which, they should give it to the Chameleons! Now there was a band!
