Mark Smith (Roxy Music, etc) dies

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Not that it is less sad this way, but first I thought you were referring to Mark E. Smith (The Fall). I still hope I'll catch The Fall live one day...

I only came across it because someone had put a Waterboys torrent on Dime in memorial. Just thought some people might be interested considering the various bands/artists he'd worked with, Roxy Music being perhaps the most obvious.

Apologies for the confusion over which Mark Smith. I guess I thought that the Roxy connection might have made him better known. As I said, I already knew him from the Waterboys and hadn't even realised until yesterday that he was in Roxy too but thought that others might. Sorry.
