Backwardigans

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

I have to admit Loonie Tunes are much more of my taste - and, surely, much more a suitable name for a thread like this - but couldn't resist the pun.... for backyardigans.... ;D

Did you never play Burn backwards?
There is really some kind of message to hear and very clear to understand.
Does really nobody here know about that?

of course... ask the hl crowd at meet-ups!
in fact when i'm flying at gigs which is not cool to admit to, there is always a sober hl person to guide you to finding the way.
that's just life, really needed within hl  but also just out there in real life if you have done the know how and are sober to help it's a humane thing to do.

Please explain in detail to me:

How do you manage to play records backwards? ... I really do not know ... :| ... might be a shame,
but alas, I've long proofed I can live with being a shame.

And what was the message in May 1983? I really missed it.
Hell, were have I been? Ah, I remember, sort of homeless ...

Being ~ you play records backwards by putting a record on a turntable and then spinning it backwards motion in the speed that allows you to hear a wooh..wooh effect and then try and listen to the totally different sounding song and what is being sang.

* I now give up!

 ... but isn't that far too slow ...

 ... I think, one of the most internal and individual functions of a specific human body is
the speed - ah yes, and the direction - of its processes ... consequently, playing recordings too
fast or speeding up voices and instruments while recording does no longer give the true sound
characteristics of the performing bodies ... which might be used as an artistic means of
expression or impression (better not so). And anyway, music usually is a piece of art rather
than a personal expression of a specific body ... the body uses itself as an instrument to the
desired effect ... that makes things a bit more complicated ... especially since some artists
understand their music very well as a personal expression ... uh ...

Good Heavens ... and with the eyes it's even worse ... ...

I rather keep to whether I like it or not ... and, eh, what was that message of May 1983 now ... ...

Please let me know, hopefully nothing to worry about ... but then again,
maybe it's far too late, anyway, to care ... ach, I feel I won't get anywhere, today, eh, tonight ... :( ...

I didn't play a record backwards. I opend a wav-file of burn with a program to manipulate music (audacity, freeware). I reversed the whole song and listended to it.
