After 13 years I finally got my arse into gear and had all my old vinyl shipped to the US.
Sifting through the boxes I have discovered a few lost gems-not to everyones taste but it was great to hear them again-

So have any Heartlanders recently re-discovered any old sounds?

I recently got back into Secret Affair, Lambretta's, Merton Parkas, Chords and early Jam...been something of a pop punk mod year all told :lol: :notworthy:

was slightly too young to remember it in-depth the first time around but this year has definitely been a 70s glam/glitter/sleaze rock year for me ;D :lol:

i've been into bowie and roxy for years, but have been giving them some serious hammer the last 6 months or so... i've also been delving into the murky depths of eno, mick ronson, bolan, metro, lou reed, john cale, alex harvey, mott the hoople, etc - all manner of bowie or glam-related nonsense :D

aye, Sir Q i see that we got some common - for my it also was Eno and Cale year and i'm sure that i'll countinue this trend through the upcoming year and i think that is a time for Bowie i even tried to buy 'Low' but for some reason i seems to be not so easy.

on top: i'm only diggin uld stuff but all of them are new for me.

i was reading it with a pen and paper next to me, taking notes on bands and records he mentioned, for later reference, and *cough* blogspot searches ;D

As I'm constantly listening to music from early in the morning 'till late at night I'm always going back & forth in musical history... This year I've been very much listening to the Cramps (RIP Lux :notworthy: ) and especially their early stuff. Also the early Warp acts have been on maximum play lately... okay that stuff's not that old (early nineties), but it had been a while since I played my Seefeel records and the last few weeks I've been hardly playing anything else :innocent:

Also this year my love for good, good harmonies has surfaced again with the CSN&Y LP déja vu on high rotation during the summer (gotta blame the Fleet Foxes for that :wink: )

Oh, and I'm reading the Sonic Youth biography at the moment and while doing that I just go through their catalogue at the same speed... (I'm at the Bad Moon Rising era now)

It's a way of life yu kno' ;D

Spotifyâ„¢ (as recommended by the Boss) has allowed me to relive my youth with stuff I still own but only on vinyl and plug a few gaps: Edgar Broughton Band, Moody Blues, Pink Fairies, The Teardrop Explodes, Man, VdGG, Peter Hammill, The Pastels, Gong, Robin Trower and of course Mott the Hoople
