 ... somehow I find it very bitter - and incomprehensible - that any
people succeed in making money of his recordings and he should not be
able to do so or have his share ...

If this should really be the case:

Don't know, :von: , what you've been doing, but I'm sure it doesn't have to be this way.

This is loosely on topic in relation to the recent thread so bear with me.

While it's yet to be established that :von: had a hand in releasing his own bootlegs, the Sex Pistols and PIL most certainly did. Particularly PIL with a number of very rare/limited Japanese bootlegs from the late 70's early 80's.

Now some of you may recall that John Lydon's younger brother Jimmy was in a band called the Bollock Brothers around the same time (early 80's).

We're getting there honestly - well the Bollck Brothers released a 12" single called The Bunker.

That in itself is of little interest here, what is, is the B side, a song titled The Bootleg Man

http://www.discogs.com/Bollock-Brothers ... ase/543508

While I own this record (somewhere) I've not listened to it for years, however the aforementioned B side sells the story of Toshi who is the Bootleg Man.

Toshi came from Japan, was a regular visitor to UK record fairs (buying lots of early punk and new wave collectibles) to take back home to resell in Japan.

He'd buy vinyl for cash - but he also brought over rare Japanese releases, particularly 7" Japanese singles.

Can you guess which ultra rare UK punk/new wave singles he was involved in replicating/copying/counterfeiting (call it what you will)?

Hmm - one of the great missed opportunities to my mind was that when the opportunity arose to showcase some live songs (b side Dr Jeep 12 inch) :von: had to resort to copying bootleg vinyl c/o Mr Pinnell if I recall.

I've no doubt the proliferation of bootlegs after FALAA and the split helped sustain interest in The Sisters of Mercy so that when Floodland arrived the fan base was if anything stronger than ever.

Very strange, seems printed paper (ok I know the original was printed paper too but this looks weird...). Opinions of experts?

Starting bid of 438€ :D :innocent:

I still have questions about this one:

http://cgi.benl.ebay.be/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... K:MEWAX:IT

In my opinion there were following releases:
original (labels wrong / correct side)
japanese reissue
2009 reissue

Whick one is the one above?

 W O W

ended for £479 or 535€ and that's for a copy with some visible sleeve wear!

you have to wonder how much an original pristine copy would sell for?

what's the most anyone seen a DD go for?

:D Thanks Cardoman - that's fascinating to see the price progression.

on that basis £600 + for a truly exceptional mint copy original.
