I'm a bit miffed; the two days I couldn't get into work (Tuesday and Wednesday) have been taken off my annual leave

i used to live 8 mins walk away, now i live 25 mins walk away... which took me 50 mins yesterday because of icy pavements etc

i was told not to go. i don't think it's that bad on the roads, but without going, it's hard to tell! and the person making the decision doesn't live anywhere near, either. so how can anyone know?

You're all pussies. It's been a pleasant -10 here for the past eight weeks.
Tonight and tomorrow snow blizzard "Daisey" is coming to visit me and the rest of Germany.
The fact they've given the storm a name says it all.
Even the the beeb are aware: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/8448095.stm
Time to batten down those hatches.
