brendan perry and peter murphy on tour???

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

"Also in the pipeline is a 100 date double headline world tour with my old friend Peter Murphy of Bauhaus which is planned to begin next march to coincide with the album release. The tour will commence in South America via Mexico to North America and then on to Europe... I shall be announcing the official dates come this side of Noel."

 Funny you should say that. I have been a Deid Can Dance fan for years and years, and had all their stuff except "Toward The Within", their live album... which I just downloaded the other day, to complete the set as it were. Didn't expect much from it as I generally hate live albums (Nocturne an exception  ). The record is rather surprisingly dominated by Perry songs, some songs that aren't available on their other albums, and I was absolutely blown away by them.

I love Lisa Gerrard but I do think Brendan Perry gets overlooked quite often. His lyrics can be a bit pants but he's got a great voice and writes lovely choons.

Does anyone else think he also sounds a bit like Peter Murphy at times?

I've always had him down as a goth Scott Walker.

(This is a good thing, by the way!)

Not even a wee bit? You'll be telling me Murph doesn't sound like Neil Diamond next!

Perry's voice is really stunning on Toward The Within. He actually sounds better live than on studio recordings. I looked a bit like this  when I first listened to it.

if you are going to recommend a cd--try brendan's Eye of the Hunter solo album---a bit of a departure from DCD--also off topic, try Lisa Gerrard and Patrick Cassidy's Immortal Memory cd

both really good albums --but for different reasons!!!!!

That's weird, because Neil Diamond reminds me of Morph.

True that, sister! Great album, Toward the Within. That was the last DCD album I ever bought, because it was that good... I didn't need any other  :notworthy:

The video (VHS people!) is a very nice watch too...
