Venue capacity on 84 and 85 tours

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

a)Always wondered what size all the venues were.

I ve been in London at the electric ballroom and the Camden underworld, so were these venues similar ?

b) keeping in mind that they were living on the dole at that time, how big or small was their paycheck for every gig?

Stockholm, Electric Garden 1983 250-300
Gothenburg, Mudd Club 1985 400
Stockholm, Kolingsborg 1985 550

None of the gigs were sold out but the gigs in 85 were pretty crowded..
...I’ve never had the desire to make a record unless I have something to say...

Nottingham Rock City holds just under 2000 (but you're hard pushed to move when it's full)

It still is. Moreso since they added the extra staircase. Saying that though, I've never worried about being crushed and mashed in there. Unlike the Boat Clubs (any of them) which I had to stop going to.

A lot of the UK dates during 84 & 85 (certainly from Black October onwards) were on the university circuit which tend to have capacities of 1500-2000
Give me one good reason
