Red skies dissapear

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

it's gary marx singing his lyrics to his tune, Von would've applied his vocals and lyrics at a later date.

Gary Marx actually is the Sisters' original vocalist. He asked Eldritch to replace him on vocals as he wasn't that satisfied with his vocal abilities way back in 1980.

I find that "Red Skies Disappear" song as the perfect music-lyrics game.

Yeah, its Gary for sure. I met him once and asked him about it. :D

I think that's the only demo I have on which Gary sings... anyone know of any others? I know there's some with Hussey, and other instrumentals kicking around...

Interesting that Marx's words also have a 'Marian' theme.

he probably wrote the song with Von singing it in mind, "Marian" could've been replaced with any other name.
