a WORD to the unwise

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid.

Aye. It's how we distinguish from the children who think Goth is Korgs and Moogs and far too much PVC for a middle-aged gentleman.

Traditional - popular, customary, regular, conformist, fixed, boring, uninteresting

No problem!

I like synthesizers, don't get me wrong - but it's a different kettle of piscines compared to the Doktor and distorted guitars, you dig?

Yes, I must say, I don't like the "trad" prefix... even though it is used to describe a lot of the music I like. To me, goth (or more accurately post-punk) should be the antithesis of "trad" anything. It should make you go "what the hell is that?" when you first hear it. If you can do it by numbers, you're doing it wrong!

so the trad goths are just a bunch of bands with nothing in common what so ever.
but all the bands that get the mustard with them are labeled Gothic.

so Gothic = rip off ? :innocent:
