@mh Another Windows whore!
You've got better graphics, it's based on the lowest of 6 or so scores.Quiff Boy wrote:strangely, if i reboot my macbook into windows 7 (the joys of boot camp) i get a "windows experience index" of 4.8/5 - more than MH's windows computer
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

Can we stop with the dick-waving competition now please? It's not how big it is, it's what you do with it that counts.
I can get crunchbang linux working in a VM using only 300MB RAM and a 4GB HD, idling at less than 64MB RAM. Great for resuscitating those tired old computers!

to get back to the dick waving, I'm sure you and the Boss can do more with yours in certain areas but I was here first, it's feckin' massif and what I do with mine is more graphic so ner-neh-ner
btw this kybd/moose combination is a winner too, the whole experience of this Mac is breathtaking and I say that as a long term user

btw, this might be useful.. i use it all the time
if you have the dashboard enabled (either through a function key, or via a 'hot corner' of your desktop), this dashboard widget is great for uploading images so that you can post them on the web

in the widget preferences i have turned off the 'shorten url' though, so that you get the path straight to the image... makes it much easier to paste into forums etcBy simply dropping a picture file onto the Image Upload widget, your image is uploaded privately and free of charge to ImageShack, its direct web link is converted into a short, web-friendly TinyURL and copied onto your pasteboard ready for action.

This is mine BTW, nothing too amazing but I'm replacing my 120GB with a 0.5TB disk this weekend
The widget didn't quite work for me, I could drag my image onto it but after that it didn't do anything

i have hot corners enabled, so when i move my mouse to the bottom-left corner it shows the dashboard
from there i can easily access a couple of widgets i use:
- the image uploader mentioned above,
- a url compressor for is.gd
- a util called istat pro
and the clock/calender that comes with os x
i find i need the bits of functionality they offer so often it's really handy having them available via expose/dashboard
