BBC6 1982 Peel Session tonight

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

According to their schedule, BBC6 Music is due to be playing the Sisters' 1982 Peel session at 4.30am tomorrow morning!

Marc Riley played three of the four tracks a few weeks ago, but talked over each of the outros, which was a tad annoying - hopefully they will play them in their entirety tonight.

Just one of the many reasons why the BBC shouldn't be contemplating axing this fantastic radio station, the heathen bastards...

Most BBC DAB Radio is only 128kbps in the UK but 160kbps on satellite/cable/freeview. http://www.digitalradiotech.co.uk/dab/d ... _rates.htm

analogue fan i am but even digital 128kbps is much worse than 320kpbs and you don't need to be bat to listen this, right? ;D
of course this digitaly broadcast 160kbps version we've all got is the best quality of sisters peel sessions around and 10 000 times much better than on radioland or any other bootleg before. right ;D

I still record the Top 40 on Sunday nights with a cassette recorder [only those over 35 will know the joy in doing that]--a few years since The Sisters were in the charts though

I record alot of stuff from BBC6 on a Pure Evoke DAB radio in mp2 format, then convert it to wav and mp3. The quality is absolutely excellent, so long as I remember to angle the aerial in the right direction.

Those of you in the UK can listen in using the BBC iPlayer. The whole show will be available for the next 7 days.
The Sisters come in around the 4 hour mark just after a BRMC session

Is it cool to post download links for this session on here? If it is let me know and I'll try grabbing the tracks using audacity and then I'll get them posted

let's put it this way, as it's not official or commercially available material, if you were to upload them to megaupload or rapidshare or something, and then post the link in the sharing section, we wouldn't object ;)
