Leeds / pre-Wendy House gig - May 15th

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

This is being promoted by a friend of mine. If these pre WH gigs go well they might end up as a monthly feature. With Paul at The Subculture bring doing a show with 2 Dark Alt bands a month this chap doing another monthly 3 band slot and me and a few others doing irregular slots between the two Leeds is getting to be a truely awesome place to be.

Also, none of the people currently putting on gigs a) have any desire to run at a loss (ergo gigs will be well run and well promoted) b) have any desire to put on s**t music (whether or not you like all the bands there will be "names" on the bill every time).

I put Glass on last month. They are from York and do a decent line in Dark Indie/Post Punk. Quite sparse and cold and at times a bit dull but with many moments of really enticing musicianship. Definitely worth watching.
Nationalise the f**king lot.

That's tabloid style editing - you should ask Murdoch for a job

And that was near-masterclass promotion Maisey - you managed to step neatly around the fact that most of us found Glass rather uninteresting.

Well done! :notworthy:

Don't be silly it's still in context. The editing doesn't alter the fact that you found them 'a bit dull'.

Not that Glass. This one's début album is called "The Sound Of Glass".

What do I know? You mention Glass, I know Glass have supported Puressence. I just put two and two together. A simple and honest enough mistake to make. Anyway, I'd whoop Maisey ass. All I'd have to do is ruffle his hair and he'd have to retreat to brush it. Job done
