Shameless plug : Kurtz home page

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

I've finally gotten around to putting something up at my band's homepage. Our latest (only) portastudio demo is available for download at

http://www.kurtz.se

I play the guitar, so feel free to criticise everything but that.

Nice band name. Not convinced about the name of track four though. It sounds offensive for the sake of it, which could lay you open to the criticism of being a group of semi-literate pseudo-intellectual central european teenage goth-rockers (not rollers).

Which I don't think would be a fair impression.

Works fine for me, guitar and drums - very good, bass - excellent, vocals - I'll get me coat....

Grass Mama definitely has a Floorshow thing going on, keep up the good work :)

And here I thought track four was exactly the song you'd identify with most.

Track four is actually called "The Ballad of Robert 'Sick F**k' Black". I cut it short for aesthetical reasons. Apparently Bob is some kind of porn producer. I'm completely at loss when it comes to the lyrics. Most of them are about acquiantances of the singer.

In a half-hearted defence of the vocals, it was recorded in three hours, with one take on everything, mostly.

Thanks. We've written roughly 100 songs, these were the ones we knew best by heart when we got to borrow the porta one day. We really should do something about it. Maybe our first proper release will be a 8 CD box set.

My band did a Portastudio demo too, it was awful and not much fun to record, plus it cost us. We split up soon after. I think you guys should stick at it.

Some Joy Division, TSOM, and a bit of early REM? Or is that just the way the singer sings?

Nevermind.

Do you do any gigs?

Very niiiiice stuff. Good sense of melody, I like that. It's always a pleasure to hear a bit of a tune. Something ya can whistle.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
