Lambchop (This Corrosion cover)
I always thought Lambchop was a death-metal band or something ...

Better not, his voice isn't made for an accoustic set. I remember back to the 1993 tour when Von was singing "Stop draggin' my heart around" without any instruments or background singers and that wasn't really a great performance from my point of view (at least not at Loreley)Sita wrote:If Eldritch ever did acoustic versions of his own songs, that would be just awesome.

Agreed, 1959 is a damn fine song
However, imo Vons voice tends to be thin if he singing acoustic version of originally "faster" songs

Lambchop's version is better than the real thing. Fact.
in dub we trust
as someone on yetube comment point this voc sounds like Blixa. not bad at least it's not "hey! lets play it on our equipment, using our fuzzes and you gonna pretend that you can sing like "
Forgive me I'm dumb, I don't know whether "acoustic" means "unplugged" or not necessarily, but thanks for reminding me about the awesome versions of "I was wrong" from a couple of years ago. Gotta listen to it NOW. And whoever says Vons voice isn't made for this - get out of my sight.

lambchops version is great, musicwise that is.
but it lost all the edges it needs if you actually listen to the lyrics (and know what they stand for)
@ Emma. I was wrong was pure bliss

That was amazing. But it did feel like it dragged on for longer than it should have.
"No, you can't have that. Have some hot metal and methedrine."
stop draggin was brilliant at the loreley. it felt like a "last statement" before jumping those 100+ meters down into the rhein valley from the backstage area. one of the most curious and thrilling moments i ever had at a sisters gig. one simply has to love it, despite it's technical insufficiencies ....Victim of Circumstance wrote:Better not, his voice isn't made for an accoustic set. the video captures this moment quite good, as the whole show is among the most atmospheric ones i came across.
andrew should do lot's of kind of acoustic tracks. if good sound is provided by someone else than jürgen (really think he is responsible for many sound-messes) this would work out fine, and oudl add something important to a sisters show.
love is just a shot away

I have heard at least one brilliant accoustic "I Was Wrong".Victim of Circumstance wrote:Better not, his voice isn't made for an accoustic set. Oh, that sounds interesting, Jost 7 and Victim of Circumstance. Would someone be so kind and point me to that Lorelei song?
Personally I didn't mean unplugged - never understood the hype - and of course I agree the original songs are more than perfect
