Searching myheartland for a phrase

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Maybe missing something obvious but if I want to search here for just threads/posts that contain the phrase "Big Pink" for example, how do I do that? Neither of the search options seems to do it and neither does putting it in quotes. I can search for threads containing "Big" or "Pink" or "Big" and "Pink" but not the whole phrase :?

try google

search for

Code: Select all

site:myheartland.co.uk "big pink"
eg:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:m ... ig+Pink%22

but be aware that a lot of those results are from 'currently listening to...' threads which dont exist anyore

it might be a better bet to exclude the word "currently" by putting a minus in front of it, eg:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site:m ... -currently

Ahhhhh, the mysterious 'Search' button. There it sits, top right of the screen, just taunting members. I've NEVER got it to find anything - I may be the only person to actually admit it though

The search function is a black art I think.

"fud" just returns 28 results.
"cnut" 29
"bat's milk" 65

Strangely, "the cure" 121

:innocent:
Cheers.
