Sad to see a childhood idol going off the rails, but the important thing is that he does get the help he so obviously needs before things really go too far.
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
Was actually laughing at the Bulmers bit rather than t'other. With reference to your other comment - will you bring your own paddle?James Blast wrote:not nice to laff at the deflicted

"When I get back to London I'm telling everyone this place is worse than Birmingham or Manchester."
That bad? No wonder
Seriously, sad to see his decline. Remember the gun-in-a-pub incident?

when i spoke to him at a book signing in manchester a couple of years ago (hahahahah, ask jo about that one ) he seemed perfectly pleasant.
we had a nice chat about the weather, the traffic coming up from london, about how life was treating each of us, and what he was up to these days.
he was relaxed, congenial and approachable.
very erratic when it comes to public performances, granted. slightly troubled by mental health issues, definitely. but he seemed nice enough to me
and lets face it, who here hasn't clung to a bottle of bulmers from time to time?
and if i were at a church benefit, i can't guarantee i wouldn't have reacted like that myself

It's good to see him back to his old 'punk-rock' self. It beats the Dandy Highwayman s**t anyday of the week.....
Day I met God
I got so carried away
Day I met God
I got so carried away
Not with the vision
But the streaks in his hair
Not with religion
But the size of his knob
The day I met God
The day I met God
It was pissing with rain
And we went......

I used to love "the Dandy Highwayman s**t".
...when I was 11.
It's sad really. Poor guy.

because it makes the drums twice as powerful...
have a listen to the fall, or beachbuggy, when they had 2 drummers.
it's HUGE
and tbh, they do tend to play subtly different stuff when it comes to fills and extra percussion. it's only usually the bass drum, snares and floor toms that are played in sync.
and it just looks cool. never underestimate the importance of visual effect

I too adored him as a yoof. (Well, when I was about 10 I guess).
Sad indeed.

first thing I've seen and heard with Stuart Goddard (for it is he) that I've liked

They were often playing something different, especially on Prince Charming era songs.Norman Hunter wrote:Still don't get why the two drummers playing the same.
There's been quite a lot of erratic behaviour from Adam in the last few weeks and the sad thing is that people close to him are apparently insisting that he's fine. I would love to see him performing again but not if this is what it does to him.

Poor Mr Goddard really isn't doing well.
Hopefully he'll get over the current blip as he's one of the few performers left on my list of "must see live".
Unfortunately, it rather seems it would be better for him to keep away from public performance.

What a shame, i still listen to the old stuff like 'Kick', 'Zerox' and 'Car trouble', even 'King of The Wild Frontier' LP. He did some genius stuff in the late 70's and early 80's. He's always suffered from depression but in the last decade or so he doesn't seem to be able to get a grip of it
I don't doubt and I don't take direction....
