Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Bat milk is all my fault.

As I recall, it was the HL meet where everything got a bit tricky in Planet Dave's back garden. Anyhoo, earlier in the evening, we were all chatting at the pub (The Angel) and, to cut a long story short, someone (I think perhaps Steve Pista? ) said "well, what could be more goth than black coffee?"

My reply was, "I dunno, bat milk?"

We could debate the cleverness (or not) of the backstory but, regardless, they don't look like droplets of steel. Or like anything else for that matter. They're just blobs. And that's a big problem for mascots.

(And my Doctor Who nerdiness compels me to point out that most of the monsters Tom Baker fought were much better designed than these.)

I wasn't taken with them when I first saw them - it's very hard to make a cyclops cuddly and they would probably have scared the bejesus out of me when I was a kid - but then I heard the backstory and was completely sold (it reminded me of SuperTed :oops: ). Having said that, I think anthropomorphic pigeons would have been even better!
