Lambchop (This Corrosion cover)

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Only the Americans could have built a place like this in the middle of a jungle.

It's great, isn't it? Thanks Aazhyd for posting!

The only thing unsatisfactory about it is that it's not Eldritch singing

If Eldritch ever did acoustic versions of his own songs, that would be just awesome.

Better not, his voice isn't made for an accoustic set. I remember back to the 1993 tour when Von was singing "Stop draggin' my heart around" without any instruments or background singers and that wasn't really a great performance from my point of view (at least not at Loreley) :innocent:

?!?

But... 1959 is already like an acoustic song, isn't it? And isn't it good?
And there are other quiet songs, and they sound fine to me.
Come on, my taste can't be that bad?!

Agreed, 1959 is a damn fine song :notworthy:

However, imo Vons voice tends to be thin if he singing acoustic version of originally "faster" songs

Forgive me I'm dumb, I don't know whether "acoustic" means "unplugged" or not necessarily, but thanks for reminding me about the awesome versions of "I was wrong" from a couple of years ago. Gotta listen to it NOW. 8) :notworthy: And whoever says Vons voice isn't made for this - get out of my sight. :P

lambchops version is great, musicwise that is.
but it lost all the edges it needs if you actually listen to the lyrics (and know what they stand for)

@ Emma. I was wrong was pure bliss 8)

That was amazing. But it did feel like it dragged on for longer than it should have.

stop draggin was brilliant at the loreley. it felt like a "last statement" before jumping those 100+ meters down into the rhein valley from the backstage area. one of the most curious and thrilling moments i ever had at a sisters gig. one simply has to love it, despite it's technical insufficiencies ....
the video captures this moment quite good, as the whole show is among the most atmospheric ones i came across.

andrew should do lot's of kind of acoustic tracks. if good sound is provided by someone else than jürgen (really think he is responsible for many sound-messes) this would work out fine, and oudl add something important to a sisters show.
love is just a shot away

I have heard at least one brilliant accoustic "I Was Wrong".

I was just about to post the same thing. Great band. Great cover.

Available as an track on an extra disc on the album 'Lambchop Is A Woman'.

Oh, that sounds interesting, Jost 7 and Victim of Circumstance. Would someone be so kind and point me to that Lorelei song? :notworthy:

Personally I didn't mean unplugged - never understood the hype - and of course I agree the original songs are more than perfect

Always liked Lambchop's version. It's probably the only cover of a Sisters song I've listened to more than once.

Not AS abysmal as the "Shixshty Nine Eyesh" version, but perilously close..
