Well I thought there was a thread about this already, couldn't find it.
my friends the time has come, it starts tomorrow. can't watch a lot of the matches cause of work but hey will certainly start with URU vs FRA tomorrow evening. Diego Forlan is anyways eyecandy plus he plays good football.
I favor the Netherlands and Italy. I am a raised Italian fan:).

Duran Duran have recorded a remake of one of their old songs for the World Cup: "(His name is) Rio (and he watches from the stand)"

Got Paraguay in the sweep.
It's been very hard to get excited about this one so far, the England first team is filled with such a hateful bunch of tossers I'm finding it difficult to get enthused...
Think Holland will be the most entertaining eyecandy team to watch & as much as I don't like him, I'm hoping Robben comes back fairly quickly so they're playing at full strength.
Argentina will probably win based on the Maradona's dream predictions. And Bendtner will get golden boot
By my reckoning, England will be knocked out at 18:40 on the 27th June.

I don't give a sh!t.
What with the world cup, Big Brother, plus all the usual suspects (Wimbledon et al.), it's shaping up to be a summer of fail.

I couldn't give two craps either but hey ho, WC is in my home country, the vibe there is very high, hope it all goes well without too much violence.

well whatever happens I will enjoy some good football. if people don't like it, tough luck, change the chanel.
anyways apparently Essien is out and Pirlo is not playing in the first match for Italy. I'll be curious for Brazil and Argentina. Ronaldinho and Adriano are not in the 23 so we will see how they go. The Netherlands will probably run into Brazil in the quarterfinals
portugal..uhm no. I liked the old boys better with figo, rui costa and such.
spain has good chances I guess.
wonder if there will be any surprises..ah but it's the WC so there will be for sure. love the game

Or don't.
I'll be cheering on Deutschland, as usual . I'd love to say I won't laugh when England get knocked out and then incredulously dissect it on Radio Five Live (not that I listen to that station but I know what they're saying)... but it always raises such a chuckle in our bitter, oppressed nation that the chip almost falls off its shoulder

I got Brazil in the sweepstake that I organised. A lot of accusations of fixing going around.
I hope England do well but I'm realistic. I'll also be cheering for Diego's barmy army as I want to see him run naked round the streets of Buenos Aires.
And of course the Dutch - my spiritual homeland.
