righto, you lot. as you're all arbiters of taste and culture, i thought i'd throw this out there...
i appear to have found myself in possession of a lot of gun club albums
however, having only ever heard one or two of their songs, i wondered where should i start?
would anyone care to suggest 2 or 3 albums that would serve as a good starting point?

Damn right. Fire of Love is the place to start.

Start with Fire Of Love and keep it on. If you go any further start drinking copious amounts of Bourbon and keep drinking, and drinking and drinking......

fire of love and miami are their finest lp's.
The las vegas story is pretty good as well and the same goes for mother juno.
Miami is my favourite , carry home, sleeping in blood city, mother of earth. The perfect soundtrack for the hot summer...

'For the Love of Ivy' does have some rather suspect lyrics

Sorry for being a little late...you're in the right place with Fire Of Love to start...then slip on Miami and turn up the volume...the production is a bit heavy
If you have The Las Vegas Story and Death Party (EP) you're into my era of the band...best for out right debauchery!
Also wondering if you have any Jeffrey Lee Pierce solo stuff...Wildeweed is awesome!!
Ta!

James,The Love of Ivy is a beautiful love song about the growing relationship between Ivy and Mr Pierce.......if you are a budding serial killer.

Fire of Love is a given as it's a classic.
Beyond that album it all depends if you're prepared to listen to a Nick Cave wannabee with Crampish undertones.Jack White wrote:'''Sex Beat', 'She's Like Heroin To Me', and 'For The Love Of Ivy'...why are these songs not taught in schools?"

have been giving fire of love a bit of a spin. pretty good, with moments of really good, but i'm finding his voice quite hard going after 45mins or so...
i've got miami, mother juno & las vegas story, so i'll work though those in turn also.
cheers for the pointers
