World Cup

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

So, anyway, I'm off to the game tonight. Who should I support? My girlfriend is keen on the red and white ones but I not sure, their only player who is allowed to use his hands isn't very good with them.

Oh, and the vuvuzelas aren't that bad if you're in the stadium, its in enclosed spaces like pubs and living rooms where they get really annoying. I think I'm missing out on the chants and the other football sounds though.

I'm still taking earplugs, just in case I have some twit behind me who insists on blowing the thing in my ear.

It was ace, wasn't it? Loved their first, on-side by about an inch, rounding the 'keeper then slotting it home :D

What a load of ass this is! Two games and not a single goal. Hopefully my luck will change when I go back there on Monday.

I give the English fans 10/10 for being able to out sing the vuvuzelas, the actual English team scores a much lower score in my books though.

Yep, tells you something about the mentality of a lot of our players...

And how come Lampard is never criticised in any game where the midfield disappears despite making no effort to play or defend when England don't have the ball?
Might as well be playing with 10 men yet he is apparently undroppable.

I think what Rooney said was spot on! You should cheer your team to the end , no matter how it goes! England have a bad game and people start talking about supporting someone else and how Rooney should be immediately dropped(!). The players are under enough pressure as it is...

Nevermind it's bloody hard to beat a team that only defends.

Rooney was especially p*ss last night though. :(

I think the Potato-Headed-Granny-Sh*gger forgets that the English fans made so much noise cheering the team on they drowned out those irritating trumpets. They waited until the end of the match to voice their opinion, and I reckon they were rather restrained, considering. I'd have considered pelting the team with rotten fruit appropriate. I've seen some pretty bad performances from England sides, but I don't think I've ever seen an England side that clearly didn't give a damn.
