World Cup
Bloody awful decisions, but it's not like the England team played great either. Remove the current lot and replace them with the under-21 squad. Can't do much worse, can they? I hope Capello doesn't get it in the neck though. It's usually the manager who gets roasted, but this time it's just been god-awful players.
"Vengeance. Justice. Fire and blood.."
Sadly, they were always going out today, really don't understand why anyone thought they could go further...
James & Cole (who I hate saying anything positive about) the only ones to come out of that with any credit. The rest of them were just insipid - not Capello's fault they just aren't a good team.

4:"2" - hehe
There are positives. The Chelsea players will be fresh for next season and the BBC played a great Bunnymen song at the end!

I enjoyed the chants of "the referee's a wanker" The score was 2-4 and if they had've been awarded their second goal morale may have been better in the second half. But fair play to the German team they were very focused, especially the goalie.vicus wrote:

I honestly don't think the "goal that wasn't" would have made a slight bit of difference. England were simply outclassed. By the time that goal went in (or didn't) it could have been 4 or 5 to Germany.

I think the English team should be forced to make a public apology when they return.

you never know if that wouldn't change the game.

can't deny the Germans played very well (and not even at their best) ... ...
sorry for England ... ... the second goal had surely made a difference ...
but still, it looks like the same mistake we had over here a few years ago ... neglected the support of young talents ...

Well that wasn't very good, was it? Christ.
Go Ghana!
Comparing Rooney to Messi seems patently absurd.

shameful.
the only spell of decent footy we had was the first 15 mins of the 2nd half.
i dont think the disallowed goal would have made a difference because i don't believe they were capable of playing any better than they did during that spell, and that was not enough.
absolute rubbish. we were outclassed, out-though and out-played for the entire match. lack of imagination, lack of concentration and lack of desire.
bin the lot of them & spend the next few years putting together a decent squad from the youngsters we have now...
and if the FA are serious about getting a decent national squad they need to show more commitment and give them more time playing together as a team, and they need to be more assertive with the club sides in forcing them to release their players for national duty.
fergie and co, with all their whining about how releasing them for international friendlies damages their league hopes, will just have to f**k off.
first and foremost the players are england players, and whichever club side they choose to play for this week should be incidental to the aims of the national side.
but as i say, they should put this current bunch of underachievers to rest and concentrate on the young blood. admit that euro 2012 is a non-starter and get the current 17,18 & 19yr olds up to snuff for the 2014 world cup.

The Wife is of the opinion that had it been allowed it would have spurred them onto victory.Quiff Boy wrote:

I think it would have spuured Germany to trounce them (even more).
Still lets give the manager a squillion quid to f**k off, I'm sure he'll be gutted...

David Blaine is said to be gutted because his record of doing fcuk all in a box for 42 days has been broken by Wayne Rooney.
they actually played worse than Italy. However I am getting tired of people discussing over and over again the matter with England and Mexico. the decision of FIFA is clear at least for this WC. sad but true. hopefully they are under enough pressure now to change a couple of things for next time but for now...move on. the next matches will start soon

you can never have enough pressure, especially when you are up against the immovable force that is sepp blatter's ego.
they're already trying to ignore it and sweep the matter under the carpet (apparently footage of the disallowed goal has been removed from the fifa website's highlights!?!)
i appreciate what you are saying that it wont change the result(s) but if we (by which i mean the entire world) stop moaning about it, they'll find it even easier to ignore...
if we truly believe it is a good idea, and more or less every professional involved in the world of football suggests it is) then we need to give them such earache that they have no choice but to consider it seriously.

well you are more than welcome to complain I am just tired of hearing it by everyone surrounding me. It's good of course if they keep discussing it on tv, all the better but when you have people who have no f'ing clue about football and this is the only thing they notice and they don't shut it even after 2 other complete beauties (goals), then it bothers me

fair enough
our chances were next to zero anyway due to our performance. the goal really wouldnt have helped... as far as i could tell england came out of the starting blocks for the 2nd half with about as much energy and fight as they could ever have mustered. it simply wasnt enough, and it didn't last. germany trounced us.
