You can cut out the stage-smoke and lights from this one, and hand over the rest back to me...
But really, do as I did, Google on "Hi res" or even "Super hi res" and have a stroll...

Thank you all for all the PMs.
More PMs are always welcome.
I am going away for 2 weeks now (going to take a groomer's course at the seaside, yes I'm going to be a hairdresser for dogs seriously), so don't take it amiss if your PMs are left unread until July 17th.

The reason is, on Wake Eldritch looks tired and fed up and generally not enjoying what he is doing - it's not the Eldritch I like.James Blast wrote:WHAT!
For an extremely long time all I had was Wake (album, singles, Peel sessions, OGWT accepted). My very cool The Mum bought it for me the Christ~mass it was released. I've made a point of watching it every Christ~mass night since then, just like that very first time. Information wasn't the overload it is today, it was hard to find out about your faves. I only bought NME regularly or another 'inky' if it had The Sisters on the cover. I was obsessed but not mental, at that time Shriekback were another obsession. I found some guys into ver'Back but TSOM fans/mates were slim.
Back to the chase - that 3 piece Sisters did an admiral job at the RAH and it really is down to Wayne being able to 'fill in' for the departed.
Say what you like but, his solo on 'Knockin' still makes the hairs on my arms stand up. I realise this is a personal take and maybe should have its own thread (Mod?).
What tours as A Sisters of mercy (note lack of Uppercase) these days upsets me so much that I refuse to go and see them. I'm sure RoboBreezer and Bubbleheid are keen chaps and ken their chops, it's the singist I have trouble with, and the crap snoud, and the same auld fuckin' setlist.
most peeps round here will put up with, what I view as a very unprofessional show
but ye already ken whaur I stand
sorry for hijacking your thread _emma_

Wake has always been pure rock melancholia to me, that's why i loves it. The heady atmosphere of things surging before they fall apart ~ that and the blinding geetars as perfectly summed up by Herr Blast above. My VHS copy damn near snapped from overuse!

Mind you, it did have one of the CD Stomper labels on it so maybe that had something to do with it (just going by what I've read on here about even Sharpies ink eventually having bad effects of the playing surface).
Emma,
At least you'll be able to get the type of pic you want from the Leamington Spa gig.
And I ride down the Highway 101

No no, I'm not the type of person who takes photos at gigs. I just stand there and watch y'know, because: a) I would be too nerwous to use a camera, b) even if I weren't nervous, I wouldn't know how to use a professional camera properly, I'm a crappy photographer I really am.originalgoth wrote:Emma,

But I'll be glad to use a photo taken by someone else, with kind permission.

Maybe something from the Floodland era?
The Petra ruins might be sofa- friendly, or maybe a factoryscape from Lucretia? Either photographed by someone like Simon Marsden would look stunning.
