I thought it was a great performance and yes, more than just going through the motions which is how both 2006 and 2009 shows felt. I guess these were both part of long tours.onager wrote: for once it didn't feel like just going through the motions, Andrew actually looked like he was enjoying what he was doing.
The band were a little under rehearsed, but seems really fresh - on balance, the way it should be!
Best show since Sisters on Cake at York Uni for me.
Roll on February 2011!!!!!!
PS Thought the merch wasn't great, but still got a 2010 tour shirt, "Sisters" on the front and the 4 countries on the back.

Awesome gig! Faultless performance from the Sisters I thought, my only grumble being Body Electric was way to slow for my liking. Good to meet some of you at the afterparty, big thumbs up to Jeremy for organising it.
The first link in my BBC Bristol RSS feed when I got back to work today was:
The Sisters of Mercy reject a deal which could save St Ursula's independent Catholic school in Bristol
How bizarre.

Top nite out - will post further thoughts later, I'd also agree with an earlier post - best gig since the XX anniversary show in York.

Very nice for Von to dust off NTTC. Since he's gradually reintroducing some FALAA numbers, my next vote goes to Possession.
Far Parade may come next or in February. Or not at all. Would obviously be swell if they'd step up and do it.
Whatever, Von. Keep doing Rain from Heaven!

Aw balls: Should have put a bit more effort into making it to this one. I really had just about given up on the band after the admittedly few shows I've done since 2006.
I haven't been able to really highlight the problems with the last few, apart from a lack of spark, and Eldo not really seeming...present, in some way (and don’t shout, but it IS too quiet. No arguments.). Plus the poodle-rock squealy bits on that frickin’ geetar made me want to unplug a certain gentleman.
From the reports and pics it really looks like Mr.E. was actually performing again., and I love the look of that setlist.
Next year.
This better not be you lot getting overexcited.

It was on a par with Exxile era.
I kind of wish I was doing at least one more date now (but I heard NTTC, Logic and Rain were Leamington only and they'll be replaced by Giving Ground, On The Wire and Romeo Down for the rest of the tour )

Worth doing some 30th dates then you reckon? I think the combination of the Last London show being in the middle of a massive alcohol idiocy on my part, followed by Beirut being my first sober Sisters gig in 16 years may have coloured the experience somewhat, but I was right off the girls for a while.czuczu wrote:It was on a par with Exxile era.

I'm much more used to the naughty-pop-free gig environment now, plus there looks like a marked improvement in the offing.
