Isn't it time for a backstage pass?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

Yes, judging from your previous posts it's you. Yet another frequent gig attendant who doesn't post here often enough. :D
Not to mention the people who go to so many Sisters gigs but are not even registered here.
It was nice to see you again at the front row in Lokeren. :) 8)

I must admit. I always wonder what people expect to find backstage as guests ?

The artistes are normally towelling down and, mid tour, about to leave for somewhere else post gig and ain't about. Similarly beforehand they'll be getting ready and not 'socialising'.

Normally you get fook all, in a concrete-ish enclosure, except for the remnants of a very poor rider and catering has already been and gone.

If your 'lucky' you may get a sofa stained beyond sitting on in the green room and dressies, a la Manchester Apollo or a pay bar up 73 flights of stairs like the Hammy O.
Outdoor festivals are even worse. There 'may' be a communal area with free ale in the record company or agencies tent if yer very, VERY lucky these days. More than not a pay beer tent.

People have seen Wayne's World too many times or think every one are Motley Crue 20 years ago ;)

Just get to the gig and enjoy it out front as you normally do without the bull and stress.

Lee

PS. Although I must admit, Tammy's caravan was 'special' at the Spa......

Me and Hom went backstage at the Spa, no sex dwarves, drug monkeys or bestial videos I'm afraid.

hmmm... been backstage with quite a few artists known on here and it's actually not a bad place to be. haven't seen anyone towelling down though.

it's the actually talking to people in the band and sharing of stories, drugs and ideas, along with a drink or five.

i've always experienced it to be a really relaxing atmosphere where people are just people. having comments about what has just been seen and heard and getting the point of view from their side is also good to hear.

long lasting friendships is what you get out of it.

@ DasPerltAber ~ just ask Chris to throw you his beer ;)

Debs,

Did ya just nick me drink or 5 idea?;-) Both Chris and Ben are nice chaps.............HOWEVER............what this band needs is a proficient lead guitarist.and.......dare I mention it...a proper bass player...... I mean......even pineapple head could pull it off..with his back facing the crowd.......

*gasps* no nicking your drink or five idea, i always say that!

just my two cents regarding the band of today. i'm humble enough to love them for what they are now and from what they used to be years ago when i first heard them. these days seeing and hearing them live has been the most amazing thing as most on here have had hundred gigs to compare to.

little me a few, but by golly the best gigs i've seen cause of that feeling being in the crowd around people who also love them and just bringing that feeling of the eighties right back to where it belongs even though times change. * fan girlie thingy over *

I think Ben is lovely and his ideas are great, I would give him a gold medal for what he did to the Floods only, and other songs too sound great with his solos. 8) :von: Whoever says Ben is not great will be spanked by me on a nearest occasion. :P :P :)

Silly posts in Sisters Chat, this is not what I'm supposed to be doing, I know, I blame it on the after-August high which just won't wear off.
