Keep on rocking in Your Old Age

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Some of the nonsense contained herein may be very loosely related to The Sisters of Mercy, but I wouldn't bet your PayPal account on it. In keeping with the internet's general theme nothing written here should be taken as Gospel: over three quarters of it is utter gibberish, and most of the forum's denizens haven't spoken to another human being face-to-face for decades. Don't worry your pretty little heads about it. Above all else, remember this: You don't have to stay forever. I will understand.

Saw quite a good band in The tap & Tumbler in Nottingham last night....

I did have a couple of thoughts when I fisrt saw them though........

Is this what we've got to look forward to in Sisters tours in years to come? Was one thought.

The other one was, he must have at least 3 or 4 pairs of socks stuffed down his leggins

We were in the Tap one Saturday a few years ago when my mate Neil commented on how warm it was,the landlady happened to be walking past and she said to him "Well, open the fooking window then!"

Pista, yes, the food in there is quite cheap and the prtions look alright too.

Ribbons69, There's a new landlady there now but I haven't seen her yet. One change she has made is that you have to pay a fiver deposit for pool cues.

It has to be said that the Rod Stewart-esque outfit looks somewhat "lived in".

By many people.

We would start off a gig night or a Sat Alternative night in the Tap.
Great memories.

My usual Saturdays evenings or gig nights were spent in The Dragon then onto The Tap before heading to RC. That was '86 - '90.

JB, I totally agree with you on the growing old with dignity, that guy must have left his at home on Friday night

Sounds like my Thursday, Friday, Saturday and gig nights 87-92 except it started in the Newshouse (now an Aussie bar), then the Dragon (now a wine bar), onto the Tap for last orders and then RC.

Was the Tap empty apart from the band? It's not that big...

I used to go into the Newhouse some saturday daytimes.

We might even know each other.
The people that I knew who went into the Newhouse were Mat, Toby, Phil, A young guy called Paul who couldn't go to RC because he was only 17, all good mates of mine.

The Tap was quite busy while the band were on, even in the front bit & around the other side but then it emptied fairly quick just before they stopped playing.

@EB
Yea, he does look like him a bit doesn't he, maybe now that he's sold Harrods he's trying to fill his spare time in
