CD was whatever the first Ghostdance major label single was called. I forget. It jumped. In my luddite way I was delighted, especially after the whole Tomorrow's World thing of saying the were indestructible. Used mine as a shaving mirror!

7" - I won it at a fair, it was on PYE records, I think the track was called Air Force and the band were called Space. Was sub-Kraftwerk synths. Obviously, it was the best single ever

First purchase: Voulez-Vous by Abba on cassette in 1979, for which I got the money by selling my Star Wars action figures to a schoolmate. I got a fiver for them, a huge amount to an 8 year old in 1979 although I suspect if I'd kept them they'd be worth considerably more today
Still, at least I spent the money well!

LP: Pixies - Gigantic (actually a 12" and that was weeks before I bought my first turntable)
My first proper LP was: Dead Kennedys - Bedtime for Democracy
CD: Ramones - All The Stuff (and more) Vol 1 (bought it the same day as my first cd player. I fondly remember the disc skipping during the last tracks... I never was that impressed with ceedees after that )
First tape was also a Ramones one, Mania if I'm not mistaken...

If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.
