sisters on The Crow soundtrack?

THE place for your Sisters-related comments, questions and snippets of Sisters information. For those who do not know, The Sisters of Mercy are a rock'n'roll band. And a pop band. And an industrial groove machine. Or so they say. They make records. Lots of records, apparently. But not in your galaxy. They play concerts. Lots of concerts, actually. But you still cannot see them. So what's it all about, Alfie? This is one of the few tightly-moderated forums on Heartland, so please keep on-topic. All off-topic posts will either be moved or deleted. Chairman Bux is the editor and the editor's decision is final. Danke.

The Crow. This is the movie in which Brandon Lee died during production. He died 'under a gun' that was accidentally loaded with real ammunition...

as far as i know under the gun was going to be in the crow soundtrack but as Brandon Lee died while he was working on the film, the producers decided not to stop filming so the film was made using computers....

andrew didn´t like the idea that a film can be made when an actor has died, so he decided not including in the film

am i in the reight direction??

i haven't really got a problem with dalton - he made a decent bond, but connery's my fave. it's the last two so-called bonds that p*ss me off - pierce 'zero charisma' brosnan and daniel 'thug' craig? oh, please! who next? adam sandler? :urff:

and the girls were much prettier back in 'em days

The way I understood it was out of respect for the Lee family Von was asked to change the name or submit a different song, which he declined. It has often been speculated that their "mainstream" break could have come from being included. I agree crap movie, but a solid soundtrack.

But sometimes I hear people call "Burn" one of the best Cure tracks ever. That's total nonsense.

I always understood it was because there were far too many goth associations with the movie that :von: refused to allow songs to be used. I think there's an interview somewhere that confirms this.

i think it's even on their official site...

http://www.thesistersofmercy.com/gen/fa ... aqnorm.htm

"...Q: My friend says he also thinks that the Sisters have written music for some dodgy B-movie.

A: The Sisters have never written music specifically for any film which didn't feature Dennis Hopper. That was only once, and as it turned out, the music has been used elsewhere ( - not on film).

The Sisters have tried a couple of times to get pre-existing songs onto the soundtrack of a film, and were afterwards glad that they didn't achieve it, as the films were not as good as hoped: 'Things To In Denver When You're Dead' (great script, great cast, but unfortunately lacklustre direction) and 'Judge Dredd' (great comic, Joan Chen, but unfortunately an all-round bad film).

The Sisters have often spent time getting their music taken off the soundtrack to dodgy B-movies (like 'Wayne's World'). They're certainly not interested in dodgy-darkling films..."

I think The Crow is one of the most horrible movies I've seen in my entire career as film enthusiast.

'Wayne's Worid' z.B. hab' ich abgelehnt, weil es unbedingt nicht
meine Art von Film ist, find ich total scheiße. Und "The Crow',
diese eklige Gruftigeschichte, furchtbar, absolut furchtbar.

'Wayne's World' for example is a film, I rejected because it's not
necessarily my kind of film ... complete s**t, rather. And 'The Crow',
this disgusting Goth story, awful, absolutely awful.
... ... (don't know whether one might rather say terrible instead of awful?)

Since Dennis Hopper wasn't in The Crow, which film was that? Hearts of Darkness?

I believe the story was that Temple of Love was written for inclusion in Apocalypse Now. Of course, there was a slight difficulty that eventually led to it not being included; I wonder what that could have been...?
If I told them once, I told them a hundred times to put 'Spinal Tap' first and 'Puppet Show' last.

So is The Crow for my part.

I think it really captured the atmosphere of the comic and I really like it. Also Brandon did a very good job IMO.

Wayne's World was also a likeable movie, very Beavis and Butthead.

The only thing that let me down through the years was the Sisters proper, so I know where my choices are indeed ;)

The only good thing about the Crow is the coat. And that's because on occasion I'm a cliche.
