The first two (possibly three) series were the best in my opinion. It all started to get a bit silly after that but still funny. It just lost the grit and pathos I thought.James Blast wrote:could never bring myself to watch Shameless

I did say laugh rather than laughs deliberately...James Blast wrote:could never bring myself to watch Shameless
The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.

The Nottingham/Leicstoh twang still makes me cringe mind you
Yea, the Fizzie came out about 1978 or so, I guess they were using the logic that not everyone could afford brand new bikes that were around in '86.
That bit made me laugh as well and all through the 4 episodes when the Fizzie Gang were featured.
The fight scene in episode 3 had me in stitches.
I did find that it ended just like the film - hanging in the air so I do hope that they make another series of it (they've certainly left the door wide open for another one haven't they?).
On a side note, there's a bike shop near where I live that has got a 78 Yamy RD350 that's immaculate - looks really good. (That's the version before the RD 350 LCs came out).

The 'fizzie gang' struck a chord with me because that was me! Hung around as a moped gang, Suzuki AP50's, Honda SS50's and FS1E's which is what i had. Only a few miles from where Shane Meadows lived as well.
Well, i did enjoy the series, had its good and bad points. Some of the acting came across as a bit wooden, seemed to me as though some of it was ad libbed, though other bits were very good. In particular the two sexual assault scenes. Glad i watched it.

Then, those glooby bratchny millicents loveted me and hurled me in the plenny like a common prestoopnik. That vonny plenny wasn't for me, so I let some doctor vecks filly with my mozg to fix me up right skorry. Then I ittied on home like a good malckickiwick, but I couldn't slooshy my lovely Ludwig anymore without getting bolnoy. It was oozhassny, so I jumped out the okno.
